A Week In The Life

Hey errbody! I've been busy the past couple months passing through my Closing Of Service conference and welcoming a new Education class to Tanzania at their Pre Service Training (PST). Things are finally winding down and I'm hoping to ease back into site for the final stretch of my service.
Recently, I've noticed that a lot of cool little details in my life have started to fade into the background, which is unfortunate; I still love the little things but I think with a fresher eye you'll find them a bit more vivid. So, I'm trying to take more pictures, which is not my forte, and give you a broader view of my final months in Newala and Kiuta.
Here are some pictures taken, by a photographer far shrewder than my self, from the week before I left for the new Ed class's PST in Korogwe, Tanga. Most of them were taken at my site and in Newala town; a few at the beginning are from Dar Es Salaam. Nataka zifurahishe sana. Karibuni wote maisha yangu!

Street tailor in Dar, solving some inseam issues.

 The barrel man cometh!

 Laundry prep!

Doing laundry in my courtyard, wearing a kanga.

Lighting my charcoal jiko. Grilling every meal!

Finished.

Heading to the Majari's

My niece's fan club reacts to new pictures. Bibi Majari made her a woven mat like the one we're standing on for the baby shower.

Bibi's really excited for her Eid kanga. She's a sweetheart. Also, check the culturally appropriate BaCoN shirt.

Shootin' the shit under the orange tree.

Chatting up Babu, my Tanzanian grandpa. He's the absolute man!

 Sunset in the vill.

In the Newala soko. "Pilau spice, local medicine, and cold drinks here."

With my veggie hookup, Mzee Adamu.

Chai Mama's. You have to sit to one side on the bench or you'll block the market traffic.

 Newala's garment district.

 Kitenge fabric shopping in Newala.

All of these would make fantastic shirts.

Making moves through town.

Heading to our sunset spot. It's Always Sunny in Newala.

Enjoying the sunset at Shimo la Mungu
