Well here it is, the beginnings of what I suppose should be called a blog. At the moment, I have no great plans for it and don’t know its exact purpose. One of the Peace Corps Core Values is helping share my experiences during service with the folks (always, always read in the voice of Mr. Barack Obama) back home. I will strive towards this goal but preemptive apologies are in order because I'll probably spend a lot of time talking about myself and silly thoughts I have while sitting on my porch. I hope this blog learns ya about the wonderful country that is Tanzania or, maybe, affords you a chuckle; the least I can promise is that you will have some idea of my catch-as-catch-can life in the Peace Corps.
Also, it is important to remember that my views are not the views of the Peace Corps, the United States Government, or anyone except myself. In fact, the blog is a work of fiction so take from it what you will; karibuni!
Here are some pictures I've been meaning to upload:
This is me on top of Mt. Mshinde in Korogwe. Like all astounding moments in my life, Tacos Jalisco was near and dear to my heart.
Obama came to visit right before we arrived so these were the signs we saw driving through Dar Es Salaam out first night in country. The man is a hit in Tanzania
Here's my house!
My courtyard! Notice the two separate rooms for showing and defecating. This is, and I say this with no irony, all the luxury I need. Also, look at all the mango trees behind my house.
